Microcredentials

Loyola University of Maryland and AIMS have partnered to develop one of the first nation-wide microcredentials programs just for independent school educators.

Microcredentials:

Micro-credentials are performance-based, specialized professional learning opportunities where educators can immediately apply their new learning directly to their classroom or work environment.

We hope you are aware that, in partnership with Loyola University of Maryland, AIMS has co-developed a series of four completely online learning programs called Micro-credentials. We are excited to announce that our 4 Micro-credentials, MC1, MC2, MC3, & MC4, have been approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), so in addition to a Continuing Education Certificate from Loyola, you can also receive 1 CPD for recertification for each Micro-credential!

This fall we are also launching our first Stacked Micro-credential, mini professional learning opportunities that are online and build upon one another, around the topic Makerspaces. Our first stacked Micro-credential, Makerspace Basics, is available this fall. The Stacked Micro-credentials have not yet been approved for CPD credit from MSDE.

The Micro-credentials are about 12-15 hours of work. Each one is only $150 total and can be taken as a standalone, or as a sequence. The Fall session starts on October 28, 2019 and the registration is now open! From October 28th through December 1st, you will have access to the content and a facilitator to support you as you create learning activities and integrate your learning into your learning environment. All 4 Micro-credentials are available this fall:

The Stacked Micro-credentials are about 5 hours of work. Each one is only $50 total and can be taken standalone, or as a sequence. Once enrolled, you have access to the content! These are non-facilitated which means there are no start and end deadlines. The Stacked Micro-credentials available this fall are:

All of our Micro-credentials and Stacked Micro-credentials are self-paced, asynchronous learning opportunities which means you can complete the activities at the time and pace that is best for you with no required meetings or weekly deadlines.
