Trusteeship 101

Trusteeship 201

A governing board’s ability to make prudent decisions, to navigate complex strategic issues, and to provide support to the Head of School have always been essential to the success of independent schools. The role of trustees is even more important today, as schools face a compelling series of challenges and opportunities across a wide range of issues – financial, technological, cultural, and educational.

AIMS supports boards with professional development that helps trustees to understand their roles, to think strategically about high-level issues, and to stay in touch with opinion leaders in both education and nonprofit governance.

Trusteeship 101 provides information for new trustees who are beginning their first or second year of service.  Trusteeship 201 is for those trustees who have additional experience and are most likely to hold leadership roles on the board and board committees.
