In this workshop presenters will discuss the Mega-Awesome Research Project as a means to teach 21st century research skills, increase student engagement, and incorporate principles of brain-based education. Activities and discussion will showcase the varied components – research, analytical and creative – that students produce as they become experts about their selected historical figure and about the single year at the project’s epicenter. Attendees will explore the tools and methods students use and enjoy a hands-on research experience they can bring to their own classrooms. Applicable Grade Levels: 6-12.
