In the first part of this workshop, K-1 teachers will learn how inquiry/research takes shape through the Reggio Emilia Approach in Kindergarten and then evolves in first grade, through an essential question, as project-based learning. In the second part of this workshop, participants will collaborate to apply inquiry methods to their individual social studies topics. Registrants are invited to send questions prior to the workshop to guide discussion to Kelly at Applicable Grades: K-1. Lunch is included.

Presenters: Kelly Lane; William Spalding, Sara Wallace, St. Anne's School of Annapolis

Kelly Lane, William Spalding, and Sara Wallace are K-1 teachers at St. Anne's School of Annapolis. Having taught multiple grade levels, they have training and extensive experience in the project-based and Reggio Emilia approaches. They have been involved most recently in the school's year long collaboration and research on making learning visible through extending the application and integration of the above approaches in deeper ways throughout the early childhood and lower school programs.
