Take a roadtrip to historic Hagerstown and explore how to develop a Professional Learning Community in your own school. Developing programs such as Lesson Study in your own school is a quick, free, and easy way to build community among teachers and administrators - and also expand your knowledge base of curriculum and teaching strategies. Take the opportunity in the afternoon to explore the surrounding area. Applicable Grades: PS-12. Lunch included.

Presenters: Daphne Clyburn, Saint James School; Teachers from Saint James School

Daphne Clyburn is a Spanish Teacher, a Professional Development Coordinator, Dorm Head, and Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Saint James School. Daphne's passion for Professional Development stemmed from completing a teaching fellowship at Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center in Estes Park, Colorado, and has continued to grow ever since. In addition to teaching, Daphne is also in the process of completing her Master of Arts in Teaching a Second Language at Bennington College.
