Please join your AIMS colleagues for The Equity Playbook - Shifting your School Culture and Moving from Words to Action.

Many schools have statements espousing a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, but what does it mean to be an anti-racist institution? How does the school continue to engage in the transition from discussion into action that makes for a more equitable experience at school?

During this workshop, we will marry theory and practice. First, we will delve into understanding the foundations of school culture and systemic inequality.  After building a shared knowledge and understanding of the implicit and explicit structures that characterize our schools, we will offer practical ways for various stakeholders to take action in service of creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive school. This includes creating structures and examining policies within the classroom all the way up to the school leadership table.

The Foundational Sessions are required for all parrticipants.  The foundational sessions will be offered on both July 6th and July 7th to allow for maximum flexibility and participation.

The program will then move to Strategic Planning Workshops.  Participants can choose from one up to six workshops over the two days - July 8th and 9th.  The workshops are repeated so that you can take all six, if desired.

Please complete your registration form carefully.  You will be required to register for both foundational sessions and then can choose from the optional workshops.  We ask that you adhere to the dates for which you register for sessions.
