This two-day (full day and a half day) program will examine the competencies every teacher should know and use to impact student learning: coherent curriculum, solid instruction and authentic literacy. Strategies for immediate implementation will be outcomes from this workshop.

Bringing into Focus the Three Essential Competencies for Teachers:  

Coherent Curriculum, Solid Instruction and Authentic Literacy


The objective of this program will be identify and discuss the three most essential competencies every teacher should acquire to have the biggest impact on students learning.  


This full day PLUS half day workshop will review the following: 


  • Coherent curriculum:  Engage in discussion about the implementation of a coherent content rich curriculum.
  • Solid instruction:  Identify the essential instructional elements that will result in the greatest gains in student learning. 
  • Authentic Literacy:  Delve into the most effective strategies to deepen literacy development within and across grade levels. 

Walk away from this workshop with strategies and ideas to implement the next day in your classroom! 


Program audience would include ELA teachers, reading specialists, learning specialists, lower school teachers and classroom teachers of all content areas. 


The program will run on February 13th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm AND February 14th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.  Please plan to be in attendance both days. 

AIMS Members: $120 (through January 30th) or $130 (After January 30th)
NON AIMS Members: $170 (through January 30th) or $180 (After January 30th)


Please note that NO REFUNDS will be issued for cancellations for this class after February 3rd. 


Presenter Info:  Alyson Tilles has been an educator for 23+ years, holding various roles both in and out of the classroom.  She is currently the Curriculum and Professional Learning Coordinator and Lead Mentor.
