Category: Roundtable Discussion

"SEO" is a buzzword that's been thrown around in marketing meetings, technical talks, and web strategy sessions for years now. But what is SEO, really? And how do educational institutions leverage SEO to increase traffic to their websites, earn more attentions from prospective parents and students, and ultimately improve their web presence?

We'll touch on all of that and more during the Introduction to SEO roundtable discussion. We'll define SEO and what makes it different from social media and paid media, look at SEO then versus now, debunk some common SEO myths, examine on-page and off-page SEO, and outline what you can be doing to help improve your organization's SEO.

Objectives:
- Understand the basics of what SEO is and how it differs from other digital marketing efforts.
- Be aware of outdated and ineffective SEO tactics that should be avoided.
- Understand what used to work in SEO, and what is now the preferred approach.
- Learn tangible ways to improve your organizations SEO.
- Focus on doing RCS (we'll learn more about what this is during the discussion).

Materials Required:
- Questions, thoughts, ideas, issues, etc. that  you have about SEO.
- Laptop is probably helpful, but not required.

Prerequisites:
- Some exposure to SEO will be helpful, but simply "I've heard of SEO before" is perfectly fine.
