Event Categories: Conference with Direct Instruction, Hands On and Roundtables

Learning to Lead is a flagship event in the AIMS calendar each year, owing to its commitment to encouraging the development of leadership skills in our student populations. It is a day-long event with breakout options, a keynote and round table discussions. The 2020 Learning to Lead Conference will be generously hosted by Severn School in Anne Arundel County. This year, we will once again invite students to participate.

Handle the Pressure
”Building Social Media Leadership in Our Students”

Social media continues to transform the educational landscape in our schools, as well as the emotional development of our students. These young people are being asked to grow up faster, and the implications of their decisions now have grand consequences that can affect their social lives, mental health, academic performance and, in some cases, college matriculation and career path. Never before have our young people been faced with such pressure to be perfect … in every way.

Join us on March 3 for an interactive, student-focused, Learning to Lead Conference held in partnership with The Social Institute. Led by Laura Tierney, The Social Institute is transforming the approach to educating students about social media literacy. Instead of targeting the negative - Laura has created a dynamic curriculum that inspires leadership and reinforces smart-decision making through a positive, growth mindset. Let’s come together to inspire the best in our students and help them “Handle the Pressure.”
