Vaping 101 and Beyond:  Keeping your Health Kids Healthy

A few years ago, we knew little about electronic cigarettes and vaporizers. Now, vapes are the second-most commonly used drug product among teens, lagging only behind alcohol.

Please join FCD Prevention Works as they partner with AIMS for this interactive, half-day workshop specifically tailored to AIMS members.

To inform your view, FCD will share independent school student vaping trends from its 2018 FCD Student Attitudes and Behavior Survey data.

During this interactive, half-day workshop, the FCD Prevention Specialist will facilitate adult learning about:

• What vaping is and ENDS are
• How JUULs and micro vape kits work
• The immediate, shorter-, and longer-term health risks of teen vaping are
• Addiction potential and the teen brain
• The data-driven social norms of teen vaping
• Common vaping impressions and actual vaping realities
• How to keep your healthy kids healthy through a series of brainstorms, small and large group discussions, and relevant role plays.

Participants will come away with up-to-date information about vaping from a health perspective, ideas for health education and prevention initiatives that directly address student vaping prevention, and inspiration to get the AIMS school community on board.

AIMS Members:
$30 (through September 28th) or $40 (After September 28th)
NON AIMS Members:
$50 (through September 28th) or $60 (After September 28th)

Please note that NO REFUNDS will be issued for cancellations for this class after October 2nd.
