Innovation: A new method, idea or product. What on Earth could that mean for independent schools? It could mean just about anything, really, and parents often want it despite not always being clear about what it might mean. For the first time ever, AIMS is offering a one-day conference in partnership with Loyola University of Maryland examining innovation in independent schools and why it is important. We'll examine why some smaller, for-profit and micro-schools are able to innovate at a more rapid pace and what innovation can look like in our schools. All of this will be completely and totally free, during this first year of what we hope will grow into a multiple day conference in years to come.

In a keynote entitled, Developing the Citizens of the Future, Alex Ragone will share one vision of the future of education, along with the scaffolding to allow educators to empower students to be the global-citizens/solution-finders our world requires. In an interactive talk, Alex will engage educators in an experience that will use their most influential learning experiences as a lens for which to design learning landscapes of tomorrow.

That will be followed by three different breakout sessions, with five choices for each breakout. That's fifteen possible breakouts from which to choose! The breakout choices can be found here.
