Talking About Race with Our Students....And Each Other

The session will share how teachers can incorporate race and identity as essential, everyday parts of the curriculum. Presenters will facilitate group discussion about best practices participants are already doing, will share some of their own, and will share some of the best classroom resources from their early elementary toolkit for exploring race and identity.

Bringing into Focus the Three Essential Competencies for Teachers

This two-day (full day and a half day) program will examine the competencies every teacher should know and use to impact student learning: coherent curriculum, solid instruction and authentic literacy. Strategies for immediate implementation will be outcomes from this workshop.
