DCIDA is now planning its March 11, 2017 Spring Conference, presenting Dr. Julie Washington, professor and program director in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Georgia State University, who will discuss early literacy in high-risk populations.  She will explain the underpinnings of the achievement gap from a scientific perspective, and how to close that gap.  Dr. Washington will explain why children who enter school speaking a language or dialect that differs from the language they will encounter at school are at high risk for slow or poor reading development.

Early bird pricing available.
