Creating an Entrepreneurship Experience in Schools

One of our jobs at Independent Schools is to mold and nurture the next generation of leaders. A big part of that is teaching the process of innovating. Creating a culture of innovation isn’t as hard as it seems, we just need to provide an environment for these ideas to blossom and a structure for development. The Director of Entrepreneurship Education for Mtech at the University of Maryland, Dr. James V. Green, will discuss how to create an entrepreneurship experience for middle-to-high school students. We will explore activities, events, courses, competitions, maker spaces, and related topics critical to building awareness, excitement, skill sets, and relationships for developing and launching innovative products and services. Pitfalls will also be discussed. This session is ideal for curriculum coordinators, technology leaders, STEM teachers, division heads, and heads of school who may be interested in creating an entrepreneurship experience at their schools.
