Severn School welcomes Middle and Upper School Social Studies and History teachers for a day of sharing. We'll begin with a presentation by our Librarian on how she and her team work with history teachers on research skills and projects. After that, we'll move into discussions on how various schools handle curricular focus for each grade, how they deal with current events, how they use technology, and any other pertinent topics for Social Studies and History teachers. Lunch is included. Applicable Grades: 6-12.
Facilitator: John Bodley, Severn School
John Bodley is the Department Chair of the Upper School History Department at Severn School. For the past 41 years, John has taught many different courses, including Economics for 35 years and AP US History for the past 11 years. In addition to teaching, John also spent 40 years as an assistant varsity football coach at Severn School.
