It is NOT impossible to implement Teaching through the Arts at your school! Participants will be fully engaged and immersed in discovering the creative possibilities of teaching and supporting content area instruction through music, drama, movement, visual arts and art history. Participants will explore Arts Enhanced Curriculum, Arts Integrated Curriculum and Arts as Curriculum (Kennedy Center Terminology). Innovative resources and ideas will be shared to enhance arts-integrated strategies that may be used in social studies, science, math, and language arts classes to inspire learners. Please bring a laptop to this workshop. Applicable Grades: K-12. Lunch is included.

Marianne Angelella is a Drama and Social Studies Teacher and has a B.A. from Goucher College. Zac Lawhon is a Visual Arts Teacher and has an M.A. at Maryland Institute College of Art. Jacqueline Lesh teaches Creative Movement and Social Studies and has an M.Ed. Special Ed. from Towson University. Laura Parkhurst is the Head of the Arts Department at Baltimore Lab School and teaches Visual Arts, Social Studies, and Science. She has a M.Ed. Special Ed. from Loyola University, Maryland. Amy Weishaar is a Music Teacher and has an M.A. from University of Maryland, College Park.
