Effective trusteeship and governance practices are essential to the health and sustainability of our independent schools. The best practices associated with this work can be learned and refined, and can result in enormous professional and personal satisfaction.  This half-day workshop is designed for new and experienced trustees and school heads, and it strikes a balance among the topics of board organization and process, fiduciary responsibilities, support and evaluation of the head, and strategic and generative thinking.  It will include several pieces of advance reading and one or two case studies.  The workshop is led by Peter Baily and Elizabeth Legenhausen, AIMS administrators, who have each served as school heads and trustees in non-sectarian and religious schools, as well as in associations and other non-profit settings.  Between them, they have more than fifty years’ experience in school leadership.

Registration Deadline Date: 9/9/16 (no refunds after this date)

AIMS member fee: $90 per person

Nonmember fee:$120 per person
