This workshop will run as scheduled.
Mindfulness is a tool that can be used with students, parents, and educators to improve focus, concentration and impulse control as well as reduce stress. This hands-on workshop will provide an introduction to mindfulness by demonstrating simple techniques teachers can use with students. Participants will be provided an opportunity to practice these techniques through role playing and group activities. Resources and contact information will be provided that teachers can share with administrators who may wish to adopt a mindfulness program in their schools. Applicable Grades: K-12

Presenters: Rosie Waugh and Frankie Engelking, McLean School of Maryland
Rosie Waugh has served over 30 years as a private and parochial school educator in varying roles including classroom teacher, administrator and as resource support for middle school students. She is currently Middle School Math Specialist at the McLean School of Maryland.
Frankie Engelking is the Director of Community Health and Wellness at the McLean School of Maryland and has served as a health educator and administrator in both private and public school systems for over 30 years.
Both Rosie and Frankie have received formal training in mindfulness through Mindful Schools of California. Through this training, they have implemented a school-wide mindfulness program at McLean School of Maryland.
