Upping Your Game:  Beyond Basic Digital Tools

Project Based Learning (PBL) and Transformational Teaching in the Digital Age

 

Learn how technology can impact your use of project-based learning experiences for your students. In this session, you will learn how transformational teaching pedagogy works and how to successfully implement a PBL project into your curriculum. Topics that will be included:
1. Using technologies for high-level learning outcomes in PBL- developing options for student choice and differentiated outcomes of projects
2. Identifying technologies for differentiation during the process- utilizing supportive tools to determine students’ readiness and help with students’ variety of needs to navigate the process of PBL
3. Using technologies to help teachers develop hand-on, active learning experiences that are problem-based
4. Developing rubrics and objectives that assess students’ skills irregardless of the technologies and project options chosen

 

By the end of this session, you will have developed a PBL unit to try out with your classes this year!


AIMS Members: $25 (through February 14th) or $35 (After February 14th)
NON AIMS Members: $45  (through February 14th) or $55 (February 14th)

Presenter info:  Dr. Emily Ziegler is the Director of Technology at St. Paul’s School for Girls, where she leads professional development and student programs for educational technology and manages the school’s IT team and initiatives. She received a Doctorate of Education in Instructional Technology at Towson University and Masters of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University. Before her tenure at SPSG, Emily was a classroom English teacher and professional development instructor for over seven years. Emily is passionate about utilizing cutting-edge educational technologies for effective learning, informing students of the importance of digital citizenship, and developing progressive online learning environments.
