AIMS is among the most active independent school associations in the country in the number and variety of professional development workshops it offers throughout each year.
The AIMS Annual Conference, at the Baltimore Convention Center, provides more than 2000 teachers, administrators, and trustees in Maryland and DC with a wide range of outstanding and affordable professional development workshops in a day-long format that is both intensive and efficient.
The AIMS Technology Retreat, on the Eastern Shore, serves technology specialists and other school leaders to keep them abreast of best practices and latest developments. This year marks our 20th year celebration for AIMS Technology Retreat.
The AIMS Heads Conference, in Annapolis, brings Heads of Schools together to hear from nationally-respected experts and to network among themselves.
In its third year, the AIMS Teacher's Retreat serves AIMS Teachers by providing an array of topics that appeal to many different divisions, disciplines, and specialties. See our Workshops At-a-Glance link on the left for this and all Professional Development event dates!
In addition, the association provides workshops throughout the school year to address topics in teaching and learning at all levels, and for administrators and trustees.
AIMS works with professionals within its membership as well as with outside specialists and consultants to plan professional development programs. Some programs are led by experts in their fields, others are teachers who share successful or unique tools and strategies; yet others lead facilitated conversations among professionals from different schools.
Whether you want to share your approach for integrating technology into the curriculum, have a special craft to present to art teachers, a unique method for teaching algebra, or simply want to host an informal sharing workshop, we encourage you to submit your proposal using the link on the left.
