This gathering is for PreK-12 Librarians who would like to discuss issues pertaining to libraries, including technology, ebooks, makerspaces, library databases and much more. We'll share coffee, bagels, pastries and more in casual environment. It will be facilitated by three local AIMS librarians: Dawn Stellmann is the Upper School Librarian at McDonogh School; Ashley Fettertolf is the Upper School Librarian at Indian Creek School; and Laurie Sears is the Middle School Librarian at the Landon School.

Administration of Medication

Administration of Medication (AOM) is a District of Columbia Department of Health approved program to provide training to unlicensed school staff to enable them to administer medication to students. This blended learning course is made up of two parts. Part one is self-paced, online review of the AOM course content using AOM handouts, video segments, and independent exercises. Part Two is in-person instruction consisting of hands on practice and testing with an instructor. Personnel enrolled will receive training including, but not limited to, in-depth knowledge of medication basics, safety practices, proper and appropriate technique in administering medications via various routes, documentation content and procedures, and recognition and response to common medical conditions. This training is valid for 3 years upon satisfactory completion of all course requirements.

Schools are encouraged to enroll personnel that will be managing student health conditions on a regular basis.
